The Brighter Belfast scheme created over 40 new public artworks as part of the Renewing the Routes urban regeneration initiative. The programme encouraged communities to replace visible signs of sectarianism and racism with more positive images of local identity and culture.

 

The catalogue was both a record of the scheme, a map of the artworks and a guide to commissioning public art.

 

A spiral-bound format meant it was easy to read on-the-move. It included a fold-out cover, whilst a spot UV varnish was used throughout to give the photographs added depth.

 

The copy included a forward by the Lord Mayor Naomi Long, artist profiles, a quotation from a community representative and interpretive descriptions of the art.
