Belfast City Council commissioned us to produce a suite of niche tourism guides and one general 72-hour guide. We developed a bespoke design style for each guide that reflected its particular subject matter. The antiques layout had cascade images partially obscuring each other like items in a bric-a-brac shop, the budget guide utilised guilloche patterns from currency design, and the literary guide was printed on a ‘faded’ stock and incorporated letterpress flourishes and visual puns.
The guides, made available at all major ports and airports, were positively received by both tourism professionals and visitors.
“Numerous visitors to George Best Belfast City Airport have commented on the City Council Guides, pointing out that they are visually appealing and offer accurate, useful ‘specialist’ information about Belfast in a handy format. They are well presented with good graphics and clear and concise information for all.”
Carolyn McCartney, George Best Belfast City Airport
“People have commented on the good quality of BCC brochures. They are well produced and complement each other. They are all the same size and of similar design making them easy to display. The layout is well designed and easy to read.”
Lorna Russell, Tourist Information Centre, Belfast International Airport
